Yael is a freelance journalist and political enthusiast living in the beautiful neighbourhood of Sandy Hill in Ottawa. Yael writes compelling news and feature articles on a variety of topics, ranging from women’s issues to defence, always with an attention to detail, accuracy, style and clean copy.
Her published work has appeared in the military magazine Esprit de Corps, in The Hill Times, and on TheMarkNews.com. Yael’s skills extend beyond print to multimedia, online, radio and television.
Born in Montreal, Yael was raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario. She received her Bachelor of Journalism and Political Science with Highest Honours from Carleton University in 2010 and went on to earn a Master of Arts in Political Science at the University of Toronto in 2011.
In 2010, Yael was the recipient of a Military Journalism Scholarship from the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies at the University of Calgary. In May of the same year she travelled to Alberta for 10 days to learn about the Canadian Forces firsthand.
Yael is now doing freelance work covering the Canadian Forces and Parliament Hill.
